The list people forget

Most short orders are not sleepers or posts. Those get priced carefully. It is the rest of the list that gets discovered on the day, and every one of them stops the job:

• Wedges. About two per sleeper. Without them the wall face is wavy.
• Post caps. One per post, matched to the C or H profile, and the correct lean on 90 degree corners.
• Geo fabric. The cheapest part of the drainage system and the one most often left off.
• Concrete bags. Roughly 16 bags per post per metre of pier depth in a 450mm hole. That adds up fast.
• Fence brackets and fixings. These go on before the top courses, not after.
