Concrete Sleeper Smooth Grey Finish

The smooth grey concrete sleeper is the standard of the range and the most economical face we make. A flat light grey finish that disappears behind planting, suits almost any house, and is the usual pick when the wall is doing a job rather than making a statement.

It stacks horizontally between galvanised steel posts in the usual post and panel system, 40 MPa at 28 days with two N12 bars, RPEQ certified.

Add 10mm to the post centres if a fence is going on top of the wall. Courses are the wall height divided by 200mm, rounded up, so a 1 metre wall is 5 courses.

Handling

At 54kg to 87kg a sleeper this is a two person lift by hand, which is why we deliver on crane trucks and why the sleeper grab exists. Cutting releases silica dust, so use a wet saw or dust extraction with a P2 or P3 respirator, and seal the cut face with galvanising spray or bitumastic paint.

Building courses that get buried?

Cosmetic smooth grey seconds are the same product with surface blemishes, chipped edges or colour variation, at a substantial discount. Plenty of builders run seconds on the lower courses that end up below ground or behind a garden bed, then full price sleepers on the top course people actually see. Everything in the seconds and clearance range is sold as seen, so ask us for photos of current stock first.
