HYBUILT's C composite posts are the end posts in a lightweight retaining wall. The single sided channel lets the wall finish neatly at each end, at a step, or hard against a structure, where an H post would leave an open slot. At around 90% lighter than steel they are easy to carry and place by hand, which makes them the pick for tight blocks and jobs with no machine access.
Rated for walls up to 1 metre high. Above that you are generally into engineered territory and galvanised steel posts. C posts at the ends, H composite posts through the middle, matched to our composite sleepers.

For comparison, the equivalent 2.0m galvanised steel C post weighs 18kg. The composite is 4.4kg, so a full wall's worth fits in a ute rather than needing a truck.
Working out the length you need
As a rule of thumb the post is twice the wall height, because the recommended pier depth matches the height of the wall. A 1.0m wall, the maximum for this range, therefore takes a 2.0m post. Use the wall calculator to size and count them, and see the wall height guide for where composite stops and steel starts.
Walls over about 1 metre high commonly need council approval and an engineered design, and approval can also be triggered by loads behind the wall, a slope above it, or the wall sitting close to a building, a boundary or another wall. Thresholds vary by council across South East Queensland and Northern NSW, so confirm what applies to your site with your local council or a building certifier before you order.
Finishing the wall
Run composite capping along the top sleeper for a clean square edge, and use the composite support as a footing for your bottom sleeper to keep it stable during install. Composite wedges pack out the gap between sleeper and post so every course sits level.
