Timber Sleeper SECONDS

Timber Sleeper SECONDS are sleepers we have set aside for cosmetic reasons, sold at a flat price per sleeper. Typical faults are splits and end checks, large or loose knots, saw and handling marks, a bow along the length, or a face that has weathered unevenly in the yard. They are a genuinely cheap way to build a wall where looks are not the priority.

Seconds suit garden edging, planter boxes, low walls out of sight, temporary works, farm and acreage jobs, and courses that get backfilled or buried. They are sold as seen and appearance varies a lot from sleeper to sleeper.

What seconds are, and what they are not

• Cosmetic seconds only, sold as seen with no guarantee of appearance
• Sizes, species and stock levels vary with what is in the yard on the day. Our price list carries timber seconds as one flat price line rather than by size, so please confirm what is available with our team before you order
• If you need a known size, a known species or a consistent look across the wall, order from the standard timber sleepers range instead
